Effective March 2026, our international brand name has officially changed from ZX TRANSFORMER to ZHONGXIN GENERAL.
Our website at www.zxtransformer.com remains unchanged, and our full legal entity name — Sichuan Zhongxin General Electric Energy Co., Ltd. — remains unchanged. What has changed is the brand name we use to represent ourselves in international markets, on our website, and across all our communications.
This is not a change of ownership, management, or direction. It is a natural evolution — and this article explains why.
Where We Started: June 2024
When we formally launched our international business in June 2024, we made a deliberate decision to start focused. Transformers were our entry point into international markets — a product line where technical communication is straightforward, after-sales service requirements are manageable, and our manufacturing credentials are strongest.
With that focus in mind, we chose ZX TRANSFORMER as our international brand name and registered zxtransformer.com as our domain. The name did exactly what we needed it to do: it clearly communicated what we made, it was easy for international customers to remember, and it gave us a clean, professional identity to build on.
In the months that followed, we delivered transformers to projects in Kazakhstan, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Argentina, UAE in middle-east and across western China — including a 63MVA/110kV OLTC transformer for a Ningxia LNG and helium facility, a 31,500kVA OLTC transformer for a new 35kV substation in Xinjiang, and a batch of 6,300kVA oil-immersed transformers for a data center project in Xinjiang Altay. The ZX TRANSFORMER brand served us well in establishing these early international credentials.
What Changed: A Bigger Picture
As our international business developed, we gained a clearer view of what we are — and what we are becoming.
Transformers are a core product, but they are not the whole story. ZHONGXIN GENERAL’s actual manufacturing portfolio is substantially broader:
- Oil-immersed power transformers — up to 100MVA / 132kV, with OLTC capability
- Dry-type transformers — for commercial, industrial, and institutional applications
- High & low voltage switchgear — HV/LV switchboards and distribution panels
- Box-type prefabricated substations — compact and container-type
- Enterprise-grade microgrid systems
- Energy storage solutions — lithium PACK, BMS, EMS, PCS systems
- EV charging station infrastructure — box-type substations and charging pile systems
- Cloud-based smart power monitoring platforms
Our switchgear and prefabricated substation business is in fact larger in volume than our transformer business. Our energy storage division is growing rapidly. We have deep involvement in EV charging infrastructure projects. Representing all of this under a brand called “ZX TRANSFORMER” was becoming increasingly limiting — both for how customers perceived us and for how we presented ourselves in conversations about full-system power solutions.
There was a second, simpler reason. Every transformer we manufacture carries a bilingual nameplate. In Chinese: 众信通用. In English: ZHONGXIN GENERAL. That name has been on every unit we have shipped since our founding. It is the name our customers see when they take delivery of our equipment, the name on our factory gate, and the name on our official certifications and documentation. Aligning our international brand with our product nameplate identity was the right thing to do — and long overdue.
What Stays the Same
We want to be clear about what this change does not affect:
Our domain stays the same. www.zxtransformer.com continues to be our website address. All existing links, bookmarks, and references remain valid.
Our legal entity stays the same. Sichuan ZHONGXIN GENERAL Electric Energy Co., Ltd. is unchanged.
Our products stay the same. Every product line, specification, and capability described on this website continues without interruption.
Our team stays the same. The people you have worked with remain in their roles.
Our certifications and qualifications stay the same. We remain a National “Little Giant” Enterprise, a National High-Tech Enterprise, and holders of CCC and CQC product certifications.
If you have previously communicated with us under the ZX TRANSFORMER name — whether for a product inquiry, a project quotation, or an ongoing order — nothing changes for you. Your contact details, project files, and commercial arrangements are all fully continuous.
Looking Ahead
The ZHONGXIN GENERAL brand reflects where we are going, not just where we have been.
We are building an international presence that goes beyond transformer supply — toward comprehensive power infrastructure solutions that combine our transformer expertise with switchgear, substations, energy storage, and smart monitoring capabilities. As renewable energy projects, data centers, industrial facilities, and EV infrastructure continue to expand globally, the demand for integrated power solutions from a single trusted supplier is growing.
ZHONGXIN GENERAL — as a name, as a brand, and as a company — is positioned to serve that demand.
We hold National “Specialized, Refined, Distinctive & Innovative” (Little Giant) enterprise status, operate a 20,000 m² intelligent manufacturing facility with 3 million kVA annual production capacity, and maintain strategic cooperation partnerships with State Grid Corporation of China and China Southern Power Grid. Our products have been delivered to projects across China, Central Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas.
The name on our products has always been ZHONGXIN GENERAL. Now our international brand matches.
