Manufacturing Process — From Winding to Dispatch
Foil Winding

At 2000 kVA, the low-voltage winding is built using copper foil wound by automatic foil-winding equipment under technician supervision — the foil construction minimizes axial leakage flux and gives the winding the mechanical strength to withstand fault-current forces. Two technicians work the station together: one manages tension and alignment as the foil feeds, the other monitors interlayer insulation placement. HV/LV Winding

The high-voltage winding uses enamelled copper wire wound to turn counts that set the five-tap voltage ratios shown in the table above (6615 V down to 5985 V, ±2×2.5% adjustment around the 6300 V rated tap). Oil-impregnated insulating paper separates each layer. Core Assembly

In parallel with winding, the core is built from cold-rolled grain-oriented silicon steel laminations, stacked sheet by sheet to the calculated cross-section. Two technicians work the stacking process to maintain consistent lamination alignment and clamping pressure across the full core height — directly affecting no-load loss and excitation current, both of which are verified during routine testing before any unit is approved for dispatch.
Winding-to-Core Integration

With both the windings and core complete, the HV/LV coil assembly is lifted, aligned, and lowered onto the core legs. Centering at this stage determines the uniformity of the air gap and clamping pressure around the full circumference of the winding — a step that has a direct, measurable effect on the unit’s final short-circuit impedance value (4.94% on this S13-2000/6.3 configuration).
Oil Tank
