This unit complies with China GB 20052-2024 at the Grade 3 energy efficiency level as standard. Zhongxin General can also produce Grade 1 and Grade 2 versions — the technical standards for Grade 1 products meet and exceed the requirements of COMMISSION REGULATION (EU) No 548/2014 and Commission Regulation (EU) 2019/1783 of 1 October 2019.
Manufacturing Process — From Winding to Dispatch
The quality of a cast resin dry-type transformer is built into the manufacturing process. Every 250 kVA unit from Zhongxin General is produced through the same controlled sequence: coil winding, vacuum epoxy casting, hot-air curing, demoulding, core and coil assembly, factory acceptance testing, final inspection, and dispatch. Unlike many suppliers who show oversized transformers to represent smaller capacities, Zhongxin General holds complete production tooling for the full dry-type capacity range from 30 kVA to 8,000 kVA. The 250 kVA unit has its own dedicated molds and winding fixtures. What you see here is exactly what you receive.
HV Winding

The high-voltage winding uses vacuum-cast filled epoxy resin reinforced with glass fiber mesh plates on both the inner and outer walls. This process virtually eliminates partial discharge and provides the mechanical strength needed to withstand fault current forces.
Vacuum Casting and Curing

After casting, all coils enter a controlled hot-air curing oven for integral forming. The combination of vacuum casting and oven curing produces a dense, void-free encapsulation — the foundation of the SCB14 series’ low partial discharge performance and long service life.
Demoulding

Demoulding reveals the quality of the casting process. Smooth, void-free surfaces mean no internal defects that could develop into partial discharge paths over time. At 250 kVA, the coil dimensions are compact enough to confirm visual quality on every unit.
Assembly and Testing

Following coil assembly onto the silicon steel core — which uses high-permeability cold-rolled grain-oriented silicon steel with a five-stage full-oblique joint structure — the transformer enters the test area. No unit proceeds to finishing until testing is complete.

Post-test painting protects the structural steel components. The fact that painting follows testing — not precedes it — ensures test results reflect the actual transformer, not a pre-coated unit where defects might be concealed.

Every 250 kVA transformer from Zhongxin General undergoes this final pre-dispatch check. Terminal connections, bolt torques, phase sequence markings, documentation completeness, and visual inspection of all epoxy surfaces are all verified before the unit leaves the factory.

Flame-retardant and environmentally safe. No insulating oil means no risk of fire from oil leaks, no oil containment pit requirement, and no disposal cost. The epoxy-encapsulated windings comply with fire safety requirements that oil-immersed transformers cannot meet in enclosed indoor environments.
Class H insulation, 125 K temperature rise. The SCB14-250/10 carries Class H insulation rated for continuous winding temperatures of 180 °C, with a permitted temperature rise of 125 K. Combined with the AN/AF cooling mode — natural air cooling under normal load, automatic forced-air cooling under peak load — the transformer can sustain short-term overloads without insulation degradation.
Long service life, low partial discharge. Vacuum epoxy casting combined with glass fiber reinforcement produces a winding structure with minimal partial discharge activity. Under normal service conditions, the coils will not crack. Expected service life exceeds 30 years.
Five-position tap changer. The standard off-circuit tap changer provides five voltage positions from 9,500 V to 10,500 V in 250 V steps (±2×2.5%), covering the full voltage variation range typical of 10 kV distribution grids in China and equivalent international systems.
Aluminium winding option available. As a manufacturer operating production lines for both copper and aluminium windings, Zhongxin General can supply the SCB14-250/10 with aluminium foil LV windings and aluminium HV wire at a lower material cost for budget-sensitive projects.
