Manufacturing Process — From Winding to Dispatch
Low-Voltage Foil Winding

The low-voltage winding adopts a foil winding structure, wound by automatic foil winding machine to achieve balanced ampere-turn distribution and minimal contact resistance — critical for reliably delivering the 3,012.3 A rated LV current. DMD epoxy resin pre-impregnated cloth is used between winding layers.
Epoxy Vacuum Casting & Curing

The HV winding is vacuum-cast with filled epoxy resin, reinforced with glass fiber mesh plates on inner and outer walls — a process that significantly reduces partial discharge and improves coil electrical strength. After casting, all coils enter a controlled hot-air curing oven for integral forming.
HV Winding Demoulding

Following the curing cycle, the HV epoxy cast winding is demoulded. The clean, void-free resin encapsulation gives SCB-series transformers their flame-retardant, oil-free, maintenance-free characteristics.
LV Winding Display

Completed low-voltage foil winding coils show the dimensional stability achieved through the integral oven-cure process — a key factor in long-term reliability under sustained high-current operation.
Final Assembly

Final assembly integrates the iron core and HV/LV coil assemblies, installs structural clamping, fits the temperature control system and cooling fans, and completes all busbar and terminal connections. The iron core uses imported cold-rolled grain-oriented silicon steel sheets with a five-stage full-oblique joint structure, reducing no-load loss, no-load current, and core noise.
Temperature Control System

PT100 platinum resistance sensors are embedded in the LV winding during manufacturing, feeding into an intelligent temperature controller that provides:
- Sequential three-phase winding temperature display with fault self-diagnosis
- Hot-spot phase temperature display
- Over-temperature alarm output (adjustable setpoint)
- Over-temperature trip output (adjustable setpoint)
- Automatic fan start/stop (black box function)
Optional functions: analog output/communication interface, additional core or ambient temperature detection, additional output contacts, RS485 serial interface for centralized monitoring.
Cooling fans are cross-flow top-blowing type with low noise and high wind pressure. Under ANAF forced-air cooling, the transformer can operate at increased load for short periods.
Completed Unit

A finished SCB14-3600/10 cast resin dry-type transformer, with high-voltage terminal connections rated for 10 kV class service, meeting the insulation level requirements of IEC 60076-11.
Applicable Standards & Testing
Every 3600 kVA dry-type transformer manufactured by Zhongxin General undergoes a full routine test programme before dispatch. No unit is dispatched without a complete test report.
Routine tests (every unit): winding resistance measurement; voltage ratio and vector group verification; no-load loss and no-load current; load loss and short-circuit impedance; induced overvoltage withstand test; separate-source AC withstand test; partial discharge measurement.
Type tests (reports available on request): temperature rise test; lightning impulse test.
Special tests (available on request): sound level measurement; short-circuit withstand test.

All tests are conducted in accordance with IEC 60076-11 and GB/T 10228-2023. Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) with client witness is supported. EU Export Compliance
For dry-type transformers destined for European markets, Zhongxin General applies high-temperature resistant phase sequence and grounding markings, and supplies a CE Declaration of Conformity documenting compliance with the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU, EU Commission Regulation No. 548/2014, and Commission Regulation (EU) 2019/1783. Our Grade 1 efficiency products (GB 20052-2024) meet and exceed EU Tier 1 requirements for medium power transformers under Regulation (EU) No. 548/2014.
