Manufacturing Process — From Casting to Dispatch
The quality of a cast resin dry-type transformer is determined during manufacturing. Every image on this page documents the actual production of SC14-30/10 30 kVA units at Zhongxin General’s Sichuan facility.
Epoxy Vacuum Casting & Demoulding

The HV winding is vacuum-cast with filled epoxy resin. Glass fiber mesh plates reinforce the inner and outer walls, enhancing short-circuit withstand capability. Following the hot-air curing cycle, skilled technicians carefully demould the coils — a step requiring precision to protect dimensional integrity.

The completed HV and LV winding coils after demoulding show uniform, void-free resin encapsulation. This surface quality is the direct result of the vacuum casting process and is what gives SCB/SC-series transformers their flame-retardant, maintenance-free, and moisture-resistant operating characteristics.
Initial Assembly & Testing Preparation

Three units of the SC14-30/10 have completed initial assembly and are aligned in the workshop awaiting factory acceptance testing. This image illustrates something that is genuinely rare in the industry at the 30 kVA capacity: a manufacturer with multiple units in active production simultaneously, backed by a complete set of production tooling for this exact capacity.
Why Genuine 30 kVA Tooling Matters
At the 30 kVA capacity, most transformer manufacturers do not maintain dedicated production moulding tools. Instead, they use images of larger units — 100 kVA, 200 kVA, or bigger — to represent their “30 kVA product,” and manufacture to order using improvised or shared tooling when an actual order arrives.
Zhongxin General holds a complete set of production moulds covering the full dry-type transformer capacity range from 30 kVA to 8000 kVA. Every capacity has its own dedicated tooling. The practical consequences for buyers are significant:

Product Detail Views

The high-voltage terminal end of the SC14-30/10 shows the three-tap voltage selection connections. The rated tap (10,000V, terminals 3-4) is the bold position on the nameplate; taps at 10,500V (terminals 2-3) and 9,500V (terminals 4-5) allow ±5% voltage adjustment to match site grid conditions without any additional equipment.

The low-voltage terminal end delivers 400V at 43.3A rated current. LV copper busbars are welded to the foil winding using argon-arc protection, ensuring high connection quality and minimal contact resistance.

The top-end view reveals the core clamping structure and the three-phase winding arrangement on the silicon steel core. The core uses imported high-quality cold-rolled grain-oriented silicon steel sheets with a five-stage full-oblique joint structure, reducing no-load loss, no-load current, and core noise. The surface is coated with epoxy resin for moisture and rust protection.

PT100 platinum resistance sensors are embedded in the LV coil windings during manufacturing, with cable terminations visible at this connection point. The sensors feed an intelligent temperature controller providing three-phase winding temperature display, over-temperature alarm output, over-temperature trip output, and automatic fan control. RS485/Modbus communication interface is available as an option.
Final Assembly & Quality Inspection

Two professional technicians carry out final assembly and quality inspection of the 30 kVA transformer. At this stage, core-coil alignment is verified, structural clamping torque is confirmed, busbar connection quality is checked, and temperature sensor wiring is validated. No unit proceeds to testing without passing this inspection.
Factory Acceptance Testing
Every SC14-30/10 unit manufactured by Zhongxin General undergoes a complete routine test programme before dispatch. No unit leaves the factory without a full test report.
Routine tests (every unit): winding resistance measurement; voltage ratio and vector group verification; no-load loss and no-load current; load loss and short-circuit impedance; induced overvoltage withstand test; separate-source AC withstand test; partial discharge measurement.
Type tests (reports available on request): temperature rise test; lightning impulse test.
Special tests (available on request): sound level measurement; short-circuit withstand test.
All tests are conducted to GB/T 10228-2023 and IEC 60076-11. Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) with client witness is supported. Test reports and ITP documentation are provided as standard with every order.
Completed & Dispatched

The SC14-30/10 30 kVA cast resin dry-type transformer, fully assembled and tested, ready for delivery. Total weight 230 kg. Every parameter shown on the nameplate has been independently verified through factory acceptance testing.

Dispatch photograph: the transformer loaded and secured on the transport vehicle at Zhongxin General’s factory gate, ready for delivery to the customer. Dedicated transport operators handle logistics, and packaging can be specified to meet domestic or international requirements.
Energy Efficiency & Standards Compliance
The SC14-30/10 is manufactured to GB 20052-2024 energy efficiency requirements. Zhongxin General can also produce Grade 1 energy efficiency and other efficiency grades to customer specification — with technical standards exceeding the requirements of Commission Regulation (EU) No. 548/2014 and Commission Regulation (EU) 2019/1783 of 1 October 2019.
As a manufacturing factory, we also supply dry-type transformers with aluminium winding at the 30 kVA capacity, in addition to the standard copper winding configuration.
