The nameplate parameters shown above are from the actual S13-M-160/10 unit manufactured at Zhongxin General’s Sichuan facility. Every parameter is verified through routine factory acceptance testing before dispatch.
This product complies with GB 20052-2020 energy efficiency requirements. We can also produce Grade 1 energy efficiency versions whose technical standards are equivalent to or higher than the relevant provisions of COMMISSION REGULATION (EU) No 548/2014 and Commission Regulation (EU) 2019/1783 of 1 October 2019. Aluminium winding versions are available on request as an alternative to the standard copper winding configuration.
Manufacturing Process — From Winding to Dispatch
Unlike suppliers who use stock photographs of larger-capacity units to represent products they have not actually built at this capacity, every image on this page documents the actual 160 kVA unit: this specific capacity, wound, assembled, dried, and completed at our Sichuan factory. What you see is what is manufactured.
Winding & Internal Assembly

The high-voltage winding uses high-quality enamelled copper wire wound to precise turn counts, with oil-impregnated insulating paper between layers. The low-voltage winding adopts a wire or foil winding structure matched to the rated LV current of 230.9 A at tap position II. Both HV and LV coils are wound to tolerances that directly determine the no-load loss, load loss, and short-circuit impedance values shown on the nameplate.

Following winding, the active part enters the lead wire arrangement and connection preparation stage. The core-coil assembly is fully wound at this point and awaits the precision termination work that determines the long-term electrical reliability of the finished unit.

Several experienced technicians carry out the lead wire arrangement and connection work. Precise routing, correct insulation clearances between HV and LV leads, and secure terminations at each connection point are all verified before the assembly moves forward.

With lead wire connections completed, the off-circuit tap changer is installed. This provides three tap positions — Tap I (10500 V), Tap II rated (10000 V), and Tap III (9500 V) — giving ±2×2.5% voltage adjustment capability to accommodate grid voltage variations without interrupting supply.
Initial Assembly Complete

The front and side views of the completed active part show the core-coil assembly, structural clamping frame, tap changer, and lead connections from two angles. A quality inspection at this stage verifies dimensional compliance, clamping torque, and all electrical connections before the unit proceeds to the drying oven.
Insulation Drying

The assembled active part enters the high-temperature drying oven for controlled heat treatment. This step removes residual moisture from all solid insulation components — oil-impregnated paper, inter-layer insulation, and structural insulating materials. Thorough drying is what gives the finished transformer its dielectric strength and ensures stable insulation resistance over a service life typically measured in 20 to 30 years. It is a step that cannot be shortcut without consequence to long-term reliability.
Finished Product

The completed 160 kVA oil-immersed distribution transformer, fully assembled in its corrugated fin radiator tank, shown from front and side. The corrugated fin tank design provides effective ONAN natural cooling without external radiator panels — a compact, proven configuration well-suited to pole-mounted and ground-mounted outdoor distribution at this capacity. Every unit passes the full routine test programme before dispatch, and no unit leaves the factory without a complete test report.
Shipping & Delivery

Our export experience spans Europe, Central Asia, South Asia, and Africa, developed through real projects including a 1250 kVA dry-type transformer export to Europe, a 5000 kVA step-up transformer for a Nepal hydropower station, and a prefabricated substation for Aktau Port, Kazakhstan. The same logistics and documentation processes apply to 160 kVA distribution transformer orders.
Why Zhongxin General — Our Advantages Over Other Suppliers
Real product photographs at the actual capacity. Every image on this page shows the 160 kVA unit itself — from winding through to finished product. Many suppliers illustrate smaller-capacity pages with images of larger units or use manufacturer stock images that bear no relation to what is actually built and shipped. Our production line photographs give you verifiable evidence of what we manufacture at 160 kVA.
Complete capacity-range production tooling. Zhongxin General holds production tooling across the complete oil-immersed transformer capacity range. The 160 kVA unit is manufactured with purpose-built tooling matched to its specific dimensions and winding geometry — not adapted from a different capacity. This delivers consistent dimensional precision, reliable impedance values, and predictable delivery timelines even for smaller-capacity orders.
Full in-house production cycle. Winding, active part assembly, insulation drying, oil treatment, tank assembly, and factory acceptance testing are all performed at our Sichuan facility. No outsourcing of critical manufacturing steps.
All energy efficiency grades available. We produce Grade 1, Grade 2, and Grade 3 versions to GB 20052-2020. Our Grade 1 units meet and exceed EU Commission Regulation No. 548/2014 and 2019/1783 Tier 1 and Tier 2 requirements, backed by CE Declaration of Conformity for international projects.
Copper and aluminium winding both available. As a manufacturing factory, we offer both configurations to match project budget and specification requirements — something trading companies and agents cannot meaningfully offer without factory involvement.
Documented international project experience. Export documentation, IEC compliance, FAT witness arrangements, and logistics to difficult destinations are handled in-house based on accumulated project experience. Browse our case studies for documented evidence.
Full routine testing, every unit, test report as standard. No transformer leaves our factory without passing the complete routine test programme. Test reports are standard documentation issued with every order — not provided only on request.
