Vice General Manager Mr. Li Xianming is the company’s co-founder and the founder of its transformer manufacturing system. In 1978, at the age of 16, he joined the state-owned Neijiang Transformer Factory, beginning his apprenticeship in transformer manufacturing. Two years later, he seized the opportunity to enter university, where he studied Electrical Engineering. After graduation, he returned to the Neijiang Transformer Factory, working as a technician, then engineer, and eventually rising to Chief Engineer. During his more than twenty years at the state-owned factory, Mr. Li, in his capacity as Chief Engineer, was dispatched by the factory to study and exchange ideas widely, engaging extensively with senior transformer engineers from across the country.
By the mid-1990s, in order to meet China’s growing demand for safe power distribution equipment for large public infrastructure projects—subways, high-speed rail, airports, hospitals—as well as residential communities, the industrial authorities of China’s central government selected a group of outstanding chief engineers from transformer factories nationwide to receive technical guidance from five German dry-type transformer experts invited by the national ministries, with the goal of accelerating China’s design and production capabilities for high-level dry-type transformers.
Mr. Li Xianming was one of the small number of outstanding engineers selected for this program.
By the early-to-mid 2000s, roughly around 2004, as China’s market economy continued to advance, a large number of state-owned enterprises fell into difficulty and struggled to survive, weighed down by heavy welfare obligations and insufficiently flexible management. Shenyang Transformer Factory, now part of the TBEA group, was acquired by TBEA around 2003 for these same reasons.
Around 2005, Mr. Li Xianming was invited by the German company PC (one of whose experts had been among those invited by the central government ministries in the mid-1990s) to return to Germany for a month-long training program. He then served as PC’s representative, guiding the establishment of several dry-type transformer factories across southwestern China.
In 2007, at the invitation of entrepreneurs from China’s coastal region, Mr. Li joined as a transformer technology expert to help establish a transformer factory in Chengdu, where he continued working until 2017, when he co-founded Zhongxin General together with our Chairman, Mr. Li Xia. With nearly fifty years of accumulated experience in transformer design, production, manufacturing, and management, along with extensive industry exchange, Mr. Li Xianming has become one of the most respected authorities in transformer manufacturing in southwestern China, and he remains a strong guarantee of both product quality and business growth for Zhongxin General’s transformer operations.
