Zhongxin General delivered and commissioned two S13-3500/35 oil-immersed power transformers and associated distribution switchgear for the dedicated 35kV substation serving Sichuan Shunhong Environmental Technology Co., Ltd.’s new multi-metal waste recovery facility in Ganlo Industrial Zone, Sichuan Province. On May 11, 2026, Zhongxin General’s sales and technical team visited the project site to document the installation status ahead of formal client acceptance.

Project Background

Sichuan Shunhong Environmental Technology Co., Ltd. is developing a comprehensive multi-metal waste recovery facility in the Zhengxi Industrial Park of Ganlo Industrial Concentration Zone, Sichuan Province. The project is a new-build industrial facility designed to recover valuable metals from waste streams that would otherwise represent both an environmental liability and a lost resource.

The facility’s production scope is substantial: an annual processing capacity of 30,000 tonnes of indium-tin-bismuth waste recovery, 40,000 tonnes of lead-containing material processing, and 60,000 tonnes of harmless zinc recovery — three independent production lines operating simultaneously on the same site. Supporting infrastructure includes raw material warehouses, production workshops, a zinc oxide storage facility, comprehensive buildings, and dedicated utility systems including an oxygen gasification station, fire-fighting water systems, and the 35kV substation that is the subject of this case study.

Total built area for the project reaches 32,000 square metres. At this scale, reliable and stable power supply is not a secondary consideration — it is a fundamental production requirement. Process equipment including oxygen-enriched sulphur-fixation smelting furnaces, rotary kilns, dust collection systems, and effluent treatment facilities all depend on consistent power quality delivered through the substation’s main transformers.

Equipment Supplied: 2 × S13-3500/35 Main Transformers

The two main transformers supplied for this project are the S13-3500/35 — a three-phase outdoor oil-immersed power transformer rated at 3,500 kVA, stepping the 35kV grid supply down to 400V for distribution throughout the facility.

S13-3500/35 Nameplate Specifications

The dual-transformer configuration gives Shunhong Environmental both the total capacity required for simultaneous multi-line operation and a degree of supply redundancy — if one transformer requires maintenance, the other can maintain partial site power without a complete production shutdown.

Installation was carried out by the client’s construction contractor, with Zhongxin General providing technical documentation and on-site support. The scope of electrical equipment supplied by Zhongxin General covers the two S13-3500/35 main transformers and the associated distribution switchgear panels, constituting the complete power transformation and primary distribution system for the substation.

As of the May 11, 2026 site visit, both transformers are fully installed on their foundations, HV and LV connections are complete, and both distribution panels are in their final operating positions. Site civil works are largely complete with minor finishing works remaining. The installation is ready for formal energisation testing and client acceptance.
