In April 2026, Zhongxin General’s sales team paid a visit to Panzhihua Hongtu Chemical Co., Ltd. in Panzhihua, Sichuan. It was not an ordinary client call. The 35kV power distribution switchgear installed at this facility was designed and approved eighteen years ago — by Zhongxin General’s current General Manager, Zhang Shaokuan. On that return visit, the team found the equipment still in normal operation.
Eighteen Years of History in One Visit
In 2007, when the factory now known as Panzhihua Hongtu Chemical was under construction, Zhang Shaokuan — then in an engineering role, now General Manager — approved the design drawings for the facility’s complete 35kV power distribution system. The switchgear was manufactured, delivered, and installed. Then eighteen years passed.
Industries change. Companies grow, restructure, and rename themselves. The client’s company name on the 2007 engineering drawing is different from the name on the building today. But the switchgear is still there. And it is still working.
During the visit, the client retrieved the original engineering drawings from nearly two decades ago and showed them to the Zhongxin General team — a gesture that says more than any testimonial could. Eighteen years of shared history, preserved in a set of paper drawings.
The Equipment, Eighteen Years On
Walking the distribution room floor, the Zhongxin General team photographed what they found: switchgear panels that look nothing like today’s products — the design language of a different era — but which are clearly still doing their job.
The nameplate is perhaps the most straightforward piece of evidence in the entire visit. December 2007. April 2026. Eighteen years and four months of continuous industrial operation, in a chemical production environment that is not gentle on electrical equipment.
What Eighteen Years Looks Like
A company’s photo wall is a record of its people and its moments. The switchgear in the room next door is a different kind of record — a record of decisions made in an engineering office in 2007 that turned out to be good decisions. Good enough to still be standing, still operational, nearly two decades later.
