A Comprehensive Directory of 110KV High-Voltage Transformer Manufacturers in China — Verified & Reliable

"Who actually builds 110kV transformers in China? This directory works through the country province by province — from century-old state factories in Hebei and Liaoning to newer private manufacturers in Sichuan and Taiwan Province — with verified company backgrounds and official websites for each."

After extensive searching and research, we found no directory of Chinese 110kV transformer manufacturers that was especially comprehensive. To help those interested in transformers better understand China’s 110kV transformer market and the manufacturers operating in it, we put together this overview.

Our approach was to collect the Chinese 110kV transformer manufacturers that are most frequently reported on — roughly 300 companies in total, representing the core of China’s 110kV main-transformer production capacity. However, many of these companies don’t maintain their own websites and aren’t active in public promotion, so we weren’t able to quickly gather detailed information on them. This directory focuses on the 86 manufacturers among them that do have an official website (in Chinese, English, or both), with each company’s website included so readers can look into China’s leading 110kV transformer manufacturers in more depth. Every one of these websites has been individually verified.

Based on what we’ve observed, no search engine currently surfaces a directory of Chinese 110kV transformer manufacturers with broader coverage than this one. Directories on other sites are typically framed as “China’s Top 10 Transformer Manufacturers” posts, and their coverage falls well short of what’s compiled here. We therefore believe this directory offers a genuinely valuable reference for buyers worldwide sourcing oil-immersed main transformers at 110kV, 120kV, 132kV, and similar voltage classes. We’ll continue tracking manufacturers that meet our criteria and keep updating this directory going forward.

Zhongxin General has also been manufacturing 110kV oil-immersed main transformers for many years, and is currently building a 120kV main transformer substation in the DR Congo. One of our recent project highlights is a 63,000 kVA 110kV main transformer commissioned last year in Ningxia, which has run stably ever since and earned positive feedback from the client — who has since decided to deepen the partnership with us. Through project collaborations like this one, we hope to build similarly deep partnerships with our international customers going forward; we’ve covered this project in detail in another post.
If you have main transformer requirements, or would like to discuss the industry or exchange updates, feel free to reach out to us.

Manufacturers already qualified to build transformers at 220kV and above are, by definition, also capable of 110kV production, so they are not repeated here. For those companies, see our guides to China’s 220kV–500kV transformer manufacturers and 500kV+ ultra-high-voltage manufacturers.

What can we learn from this?

Lined up province by province, these roughly seventy companies show that 110kV is where China’s transformer industry is genuinely decentralized. Unlike the 500kV+ tier, there’s no single dominant player here — the qualification bar is lower and the customer base (regional grids, industrial parks, renewable projects) is local by nature, so a factory founded in 1927 and one founded in 2023 can sit on the same list as legitimate, active suppliers.

That’s an opportunity for buyers — real price and lead-time competition, often from a manufacturer close enough to visit — but also a risk, since company age alone says little about certification history or export track record. The real question isn’t which province a manufacturer sits in, but which specific test reports and certifications that factory can actually produce — worth checking directly, every time.
