A new batch of container-type prefabricated cabin substations has completed final assembly and full routine testing at ZHONGXIN GENERAL’s Chengdu manufacturing facility and is now ready for dispatch. Each unit integrates a 2500 kVA oil-immersed power transformer, medium-voltage switchgear, low-voltage distribution panels, and reactive power compensation — all pre-wired, pre-tested, and housed in a single weatherproof enclosure designed for plug-and-play energization on site.

Built for Speed, Engineered for Reliability

The dispatched units are model YBM-12/0.4 prefabricated substations, engineered for 10 kV / 0.4 kV distribution applications. At the heart of each cabin sits an S11-2500/10 oil-immersed transformer with a Dyn11 vector group, ONAN (oil-natural air-natural) cooling, and a short-circuit impedance of 4.96%. The transformer offers five off-circuit tapping positions (+/-2×2.5%) spanning 9,500 V to 10,500 V on the high-voltage side, delivering a stable 400 V at 3,608.4 A on the low-voltage side.

What’s Inside the Cabin

Beyond the transformer, each prefabricated cabin is a complete, self-contained power distribution system. The interior is divided into functionally segregated compartments:

  • MV Switchgear Compartment — ring-main unit or breaker panel for 10 kV incoming supply and protection.
  • LV Distribution Compartment — main incoming breaker, feeder breakers, and a color-coded copper busbar system (red / yellow / green phase identification).
  • Transformer Compartment — the S11-2500/10 oil-immersed unit with forced-air cooling fans, temperature monitoring, and fire-resistant segregation.
  • Reactive Power Compensation Compartment — capacitor bank fitted with CHNT CJ19-series contactors and NT00 fuse links for automatic power factor correction.

The enclosure carries an IP33D protection rating against solid objects and vertical rain, with a total unit weight of approximately 19 metric tons. All units comply with GB/T 17467-2020 (prefabricated substations) and the GB 1094 series (power transformers). Every unit undergoes full routine testing before dispatch — including winding resistance measurement, turns-ratio verification, insulation resistance, no-load loss, load loss, and impedance voltage tests.
